ENEM 2025 featured interdisciplinary, contextualized, and humanistic exams. Articles by SESI-SP analyze the different subject areas and the essay prompt.

ENEM 2025 continued the trend of exams that are interdisciplinary, contextualized, and connected to contemporary societal challenges. Both days emphasized critical reading, practical knowledge, and reflection on socially relevant issues, requiring candidates to show content mastery, intellectual maturity, and social awareness.

On the first day, the Language Arts and Humanities sections, along with the essay, addressed themes such as human rights, cultural diversity, ethics, social inequality, the environment, and the fight against discrimination. The wide range of textual genres, authorial voices, and forms of expression underscored the value placed on inclusion, representation, and dialogue between literary tradition and current social issues.

This thematic focus extended naturally into the arts and languages. In Art and Literature, works from different historical periods highlighted the social and political role of artistic production, encouraging critical and contextualized interpretation. The English and Spanish language exams, in turn, adopted an intercultural perspective, engaging with issues such as racism, collective memory, political participation, and ongoing transformations in language.

Bringing these discussions into a more explicitly argumentative form, the essay prompt, “Perspectives on Aging in Brazilian Society,” emerged as one of the exam’s central challenges. It required students to articulate a comprehensive analysis—encompassing demographic, social, economic, and cultural aspects—while also proposing ethical and feasible interventions grounded in human rights. This component demanded content knowledge, structured reasoning, and coherent argumentation.

The second day shifted the focus without abandoning this integrative logic. Mathematics and Natural Sciences continued to emphasize contextualization and interdisciplinarity. Questions involved interpreting charts and tables, as well as sustainability, health, technology, and everyday situations, balancing traditional concepts with practical applications. In Mathematics in particular, the exam highlighted logical reasoning, data interpretation, and the legitimacy of multiple solution pathways.

According to specialists, student performance reflects a strong alignment between the demands of ENEM 2025 and the education model promoted by SESI-SP, which emphasizes integrated, critical learning connected to real-world contexts. The exam thus reaffirms the importance of an educational approach that goes beyond memorization, fostering civic education that is meaningful and responsive to the challenges of today’s world.
